The restaurant of Villa Moriolo is the ideal place for lunches and dinners, but also special celebrations and ceremony parties such as graduations, birthdays, first communions, baptisms and weddings.
Its versatility is due to the rich variety of spaces obtained from the former cellars of the Villa, where once were kept the huge vats of pietra serena (typical Tuscan local stone) in which the iconic “Rosso di Moriolo” wine fermented.
During the restoration of the building, the old eighteenth-century vats were dismantled and reused to set up the external spaces of the Villa making large stone seats in front of the main entrance and near the pool.
The entrance to the restaurant area is located on the ground floor, where the reception hall with a small bar welcomes guests at their arrival.
The hall is right in the middle of the basement of the original old castle dating back to the Middle Ages, and separates the restaurant into two wings:
– on the left there is a large area that can host up to 45 people, consisting of three communicating rooms with ancient vaulted facing bricks ceilings;
– on the right guests can find the huge hall where the stone vats were originally positioned and where the old brick foundations can be seen, as well as the vaulted facing bricks ceiling. This area can accommodate up to 30 people.
Finally in the inner part of the ground floor, there is the professional kitchen and its pantry, fully equipped for any kind of event.
Please note: The restaurant is open only upon request, so reservations are strictly necessary.
